Prayer Declaration: Embracing Our God-Given Identity
Heavenly Father,
I praise You for being our magnificent Creator, a loving Father who has intricately designed each one of us with purpose and love, and for an intimate love relationship with Yourself. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." (Psalm 139:13-14 NIV)
We renounce the shattered limitations of broken identity, including:
-
False Labels: We reject any labels that others have placed on us that do not align with who You say we are.
-
Bad Circumstances: We break free from the negative impact of our past experiences and circumstances that have hindered our growth.
-
Past Wounds: We let go of the pain and hurt from past betrayals, rejections, and abuses.
-
Self-Doubt: We overcome the doubts and fears that have prevented us from stepping into our true identity.
-
Insecurity: We cast aside feelings of inadequacy and embrace the confidence that comes from knowing we are Your children.
-
Comparison: We stop comparing ourselves to others and accept the unique path You have set before us.
-
Guilt and Shame: We release the burden of guilt and shame, knowing that in Christ we are forgiven and made new.
Instead, we choose to see ourselves through Your eyes, as Your beloved children, crowned with glory and honor. "When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor." (Psalm 8:3-5 NIV)
We declare these truths about our identity:
-
Precious and Valuable: You see us as precious and worth far more than rubies. "She is worth far more than rubies." (Proverbs 31:10 NIV)
-
Loved and Chosen: You chose us before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in Your sight. "For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love." (Ephesians 1:4 NIV)
-
Adopted by an Unfailing Father: We are adopted by a Father who cannot fail us. He is God, and His love and faithfulness are unwavering. "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." (John 1:12 NIV)
-
Redeemed and Forgiven: We are redeemed through the blood of Christ and forgiven of our sins. "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace." (Ephesians 1:7 NIV)
-
Heirs of God: As Your children, we are heirs to Your kingdom and co-heirs with Christ. "Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ." (Romans 8:17 NIV)
-
Empowered and Victorious: We have the power and victory through Christ to overcome all obstacles. "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." (Philippians 4:13 NIV)
-
Fearfully and Wonderfully Made: We are intricately designed by You, and Your works are wonderful. "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." (Psalm 139:14 NIV)
-
Purposeful: You have plans for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
We stand on the promise that we are Your masterpiece, created anew in Christ Jesus to do good works which You have prepared in advance for us to do. "For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." (Ephesians 2:10 NLT)
Lord, we call upon Your name, knowing that all who do so shall be saved and transformed. "All who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13 NIV)
As we come into Your presence, we commit to living out our God-given destiny with confidence and faith. We declare that nothing can stop us from fulfilling Your purpose for our lives. We ask, Father, that You open the eyes of our understanding. Speak to each individual about what You want them to see regarding their identity, any self-imposed limitations, trauma, or abuse that has hindered this area. Give each person fresh revelations through the Holy Spirit of who You created them to be. We acknowledge that to have a healthy relationship with You, Father God, we need a healthy view of ourselves. Make us stable and confident in our identity in Christ, that we may walk boldly into the destiny You have prepared for us.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
